in trio, player id 1032 has krong score of 200000+. When searching for planets, he owns only 1 planet. I know krong score changes when you begin to send i-nodes, but after 100 turns there's been no change in planet #. Also if player owns alot of i-nodes and y-units, he should not be able to afford the upkeep of such units since it should be quite significant. Is this a bug, or has player found way to beat the system?

He might have a lot of nodes in orbit and could be helped by his alliance members. Lets see how it evolves.

I found the score of certain empires to be a little too high and have suspected some cheating for a few rounds now, I decided to investigate the problem and here is what I found.

(I think this is the cause and am VERY convinced but not 100% sure)

This problem is not with the krong score system but with players taking advantage of a bug in the market. This bug has caused those who knew it to be able to get an unlimited ammount of money (with enough time). This is why there are a few very strong mercs with impossible scores and power.

If you go to the market and buy max ammount of Fagur Biogel for 3 UC each. (When testing I bought 8921600) Because you buy so much the cost increases and you can then sell them for 5 UC each, the max ammount that I could sell when testing was 7137280, when you sell these the sell price decreases to 3 then when you sell the rest goes back to the normal value of 2, the max ammount also goes back to the exact ammount that it was before buying any. This means that it is possible to keep doing this hundreds of times and make huge profit.

Here is what happens:

Buy 8921600 at 3 UC each = 26764800 initial cost

Sell 7137280 at 5 UC = 35686400 then sell the remaining 1784320 at 3 UC (the cost of buying them)

This means that you will have a profit of 2 x 7137280 = 14274560UC per time you buy and sell. (it would be easy to make alot of UC in a short ammount of time)

I tested it several times and it always works, the values also always go back to the previous ammounts so no effect is made on the market to costs or max ammounts

I tested this in Trio and Virgo and it works in both, I expect it will be the same in TG and the other galaxys as well

Ok sorry for the long post, just that I spent ages trying to find how this was happening and wanted to put it clearly.

just so you know:

I used more than one account to test this and to find out how it happened, I will delete these empires now so it does not effect anything and with my main account in Trio I will try to get rid of the UC I gained so I am not at an advantage.

I forgot to mention that this works for many of the things sold on the market and I just used Biogel as an example. It also works for spores and did work for Human fighters when the cost was right but does not work with them at the current cost, I am not sure but this problem probably effects the whole market if prices and max ammounts are right.

Well what can I say There is no bug with this ... I have a lot of CEC hanging in space... yes this is some sort of bug and requires better algoritm and corect variable types for market DB ... The only thing I don' t understand how you vere unable to find these "bugs" if you paly this game in years ... we do some 2 month now and we found uout all what we need ... and maybe don't need to know ... if you are very patient ... yes you can sit in market and trade for maney ... I guess you start solving this problem with reorganizing algorithm and checking variable types Have a nice day and play

That would be because most players don't intentionally go looking for bugs that they can exploit, only when I found there to be suspicious scores that I tryed to look for ways that players could be cheating.

Does this mean you are admitting to exploiting a bug? Have you read the game rules?

I suppose this is easier said than done though, at the moment I have very little knowledge about how these things work, so I cant make any sugestions, I am trying to learn though so one day may be of some help
